- Our small-batch collections are designed by Nina in Seattle, WA, and ethically handmade by highly skilled seamstresses around the world. Along the way, we’ve sourced and printed fabrics from Turkey, Japan, Thailand, and China, now produce in carefully chosen facilities across different regions.

What size of Mome dress should I get?

Why would I choose dresses with nursing zippers when there are other dress styles, like dresses with a smocked bodice or button front, that are also nursing-friendly?
- Our dresses with nursing zippers are specifically designed with a discreet zipper opening, making it easy and convenient to breastfeed your baby. This means you can nurse your baby anywhere, anytime, without the need to find a private place to undress or worry about exposing too much skin.
- In contrast, smocked dresses may not provide adequate coverage for nursing moms, potentially exposing more of your chest than you're comfortable with. This can make it challenging for mothers to feel at ease while breastfeeding in public, which, in turn, may limit their ability to fully enjoy their daily activities.
Can I wear the dresses with nursing zippers after I stop breastfeeding?
- Yes. That is our intention when we create Mome dresses with hidden nursing zippers. The zippers are thoughtfully designed and disguised as bust darts so they won't interfere with the look of the dress.

I was pretty excited to try this out and it is pretty 50/50 on whether you get something that works or not. I unfortunately didn't receive patterns I was fond of. I noticed that you receive dresses of your size based on styles they were trying to get rid of. I wished I paid more attention to that because they were styles I was definitely not interested in. It seems like if I were a different size, there was so much more styles they had options for. I would suggest you investigate what styles they're trying to phase out in your size and if you're willing to receive those dresses. But overall pretty disappointed. I love my Mome dresses but I'm very intentional and put a lot of thought in what goes in my closet because these really are an investment to spend on, so I'm hoping I can re-sell it to another mama that'll love it. I think they mentioned you could put a note and I wish I did that because it seems like a lot of other moms received styles they were interested in. If you decide to do this, just select wisely before buying. :)

The materal is nice. But the fabric in the back looks bunched up and the butt looks bigger than usual. The versa was way too tight in the bust and arms. The concept is nice.
The dresses are cute. Pocket size is awesome! And the zippers seem to work smoothly. I am washing the dresses as they have a bit of a smell. They are a bit loose on me personally, even though I ordered based on my measurements, but with the ties it’s totally fine. I received the embrace maxi dress in burgundy (I think- it said butterfly on the packaging) and the embrace striped dress. It’s cute and classy. but if you are sensitive to patterns it does make your eyes hurt a bit. And the third dress I received was I’m assuming a sample dress. It didn’t have a name in the packaging. It is pink and had some sort of square ruffle on the front, it looks a bit like a bib or sort of a gunne sax style. It was the losses of the dresses and isn’t very flattering, and it didn’t come with a tie. But I’m going to buy from somewhere else to cinch the waist. The front of the dress is a little rumpled? Even after washing And there were several loose threads. And no care label (that I can find- I’m assuming it’s washed the same as the others so no biggies) I’m also going to remove the tag as this dress has a high collar but I prefer if it’s folded down
Overall I’m happy with the dresses, and I’m excited to be able to wear them
